Holy busy couple days. Jack Sabo and Adam Brown came down from STL gotta hang and watch first hand the work that goes into making blends. While they missed the barrel sample and blend evaluation/creation stage, they gotta take hand in dumping barrels, making the blend, and well doing whatever we wanted like we owned the joint ….the actual fun part 😂
Alright here is the breakdown- Each number will be a release for a total of 6 Sourced Turkey Releases. 2 releases as they are in the original barrel and 4 released as a double oaked in some way.
#1 – Release of a 9yr 9mo SiB that slays The Subtle Spirits Sib…and yes, I brought a 🤖 of the Subtle to compare. Congrats Jack Sabo for your parting gift 😂
✅ I blended 4 barrels of 9y9m
✅ I blended 6 barrels of 8y9m
✅ I blended the 9y9mo with the 8y9m to make the “737 turkey blend”
This 737 Blend will make:
#2 – 1 release of the “737 Turkey Blend” as the blend is
#3 – 1 release of the “737 Turkey Blend” double oaked in a char 5 / alligator char kelvin barrel
#4 – 1 release of the “737 Turkey Blend” double oaked in a char 4 Kelvin barrel at “x” months
❓The Double Oaked barrels will be released over time when the double oaking is at its perfect spot, and I’ll be checking it monthly
I didn’t want to leave Barrel King hanging with 8 barrels that I took 1/2 or more from so I took the remaining barrels of 8y9m and blended into a second batch known as the “young blend”
This “young blend” will make:
#5 – 1 release of the “young blend” in a medium toast
#6 – 1 release of the “young blend” in a char 4 Kelvin
I’ll do a re-cap on the next Whiskey Wednesday Live Stream and will also give everyone who tunes in a spot for Q&A
